Holy cow! It has been a while since I've posted. Have you missed me?
Things have been insanely busy and I am so blessed to be able to say that. One of the things that has occupied my time lately has been working with our local animal rescue (Catskill Animal Rescue, Inc.) to help promote the animals in need of support, finances, and loving homes. Something I am extremely passionate about.
One particular case that really hit me hard is a story of a young Rottie who was very cruelly abused and burned by his previous owners. He is now in the care of the rescue and Quality Pet Care, one of our local veterinarians, until he is well enough to be adopted.
When I first saw him my heart sank and tears started to flow. But, surprisingly, this sweet boy was nothing but smiles, tail wags, and kisses. After all that he has had to endure at the hands of some very sadistic, brutal, monstrous, (getting the picture?) and sick (in)humans, he is still happy to be around people. Isn't he so handsome?
I am amazed at the resilience of this dog and the amount of love that he still has for humans. If that is not forgiveness and loyalty I don't know what is. He is particularly fond of the vet tech who has been his primary care giver and friend. She performs his treatments and gives him lots of love and attention. Plus the occasional cookie.
Being able to assist in helping this animals find homes is part of why I love what I do. Photographing the perfect portrait to help win the hearts of many potential adoptive pet parents just warms my heart.
My heart, respect, and admiration goes out to everyone in the animal welfare and rescue field. There is a very special place in Heaven for each of you.
Donations are very important to keeping the efforts of the rescue going. If you would like to help fund veterinary costs or rescue efforts you may follow the above link for Catskill Animal Rescue, or leave a comment and I will help point you in the right direction.
