Ah, Thanksgiving week. The hustle, the bustle, the food, the family, the friends, the insanity!
I love this time of year. Something about the combination of the season, the early darkness, the crispness of the air, and the warmth of the hearts of those around me just makes me feel comfy and cozy. It is a happy time of year. Giving and sharing with others is what makes me the happiest I think. Being able to bring a smile to a loved one's face fills me with such joy.
And of course, when that gift is a special keepsake of their pet's photo, how can you go wrong? Our pets' lives are sadly limited on this earth; 16 years is hardly enough time!
My precious puppy is 7 years old and, me being the photographer, have had him model for my numerous times. He looks
at me and says, "really mom, again?" (Yes, he is my child). But he doesn't understand that when he is gone all I will have are these memories, captured in an instant, to cherish and keep his memory alive. Without having these photos, canvases, and albums...yes albums...of him I don't know what I would do.
Giving someone the gift of a pet portrait, in my opinion, is something special and truly unique. A gift that will be loved and cherished for years and years to come.
Side note: This photo of my boy was taken 7 years ago and we entered it in a contest. I never imagined it would become as viral as it has.
